WHLI Presents a Night of Music & Memories

The Chiclettes demonstrate their diversity with a wide array of music, performing favorites from the 50's, 60’s, 70's, 80's, and beyond which are reminders of the fantastic female contributions these artists made to the pop music scene through the years.

Being dubbed as “Mr Entertainment”, Bobby Wilson, is the son of Legendary R&B/Soul Singer, Jackie Wilson. Bobby has the same amazing traits and talents of his father, that many say Jackie Wilson’s legacy lives on through him. Bobby has entertained fans all over the world and will continue to soar as a singer, an entertainer and a artist.

Bob Miranda & The Happenings virtually exploded onto the national charts in May of 1966 with their first single release, "See You In September". The song quickly spiraled up the charts to become an international #1 record throughout the entire summer. With Bob Miranda, the lead singer, the group went to have two more hits, “Go Away Little Girl” & I Got Rhythm.

Vito Picone & The Elegants, still based on Staten Island, were formed in 1956 by their lead singer, Vito Picone, who also co-wrote their #1 single "Little Star" Little Star sold over 2 1/2 million copies worldwide in 1958. Aside from doubling their original record sales since 1958, “Little Star” has been immortalized in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The year 2026 will mark 68 years since “Little Star” became # 1. The Elegants are still one of today's most entertaining acts.

Jay and the Americans continue to be led onto the stage by founding members Sandy Deanne and Marty Sanders, long-time lead singer Jay Reinecke, new addition Darren Dowler (former lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders), and their great backup band. Jay and the Americans had 12 top 10 charted records from 1962-1971, including “She Cried,” “Only in America,” “Come a Little Bit Closer,” “Cara Mia,” “This Magic Moment,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and “Walkin in the Rain.” Always an STNJ favorite, you’ll see why they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
