Paying Homage to Broadway's Most Original, Intriguing and Terrifying Characters

BROADWAY FRIGHT NIGHT is a celebration of songs from musicals with Supernatural, Horror and Sci-Fi themes. Created and hosted by New York Casting Director Stephen DeAngelis, five of New York’s finest vocalists will pay homage to Broadway and Off-Broadway’s most original, intriguing and terrifying characters in this all-new concert event. Scheduled performers are Richard Todd Adams (The Phantom of the OperaCATSJekyll & HydeThe Pirate QueenThe Woman in White), Jackie Burns (Wicked; If/Then; Hair), Janine Maria DiVita (Grease; The Mystery of Edwin Drood; Anything Goes), Jenny Lee Stern (Rocky; A Christmas Story) and Joey Taranto (Kinky Boots; Rock of Ages; Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark). Musical Director/Accompanist will be Eugene Gwozdz. The evening will include musical selections from Wicked; The Phantom of the Opera; Jekyll and Hyde; Little Shop of HorrorsThe Rocky Horror Show; Young Frankenstein; Sweeney Todd; Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark; Dance of the Vampires; Bat Boy and much more!!! Join us for “spook-tacular” evening certain to give audience members of all ages thrills and chills in this “can’t miss” concert event.


RICHARD TODD ADAMS has spent much of the last decade performing in New York and across the country in some of the most sought-after roles in musical theatre. Most recently, he was the Standby for the roles of Old Deuteronomy and Gus/Bustopher Jones in the most recent Broadway revival of CATS. He is one of a handful of American actors to have portrayed The Phantom, Jean Valjean and Javert. A graduate of The Juilliard School, he began his career starring as Raoul with both the Los Angeles and national touring companies of The Phantom of the Opera. Upon returning to New York, he appeared Off-Broadway in Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill, Michael John LaChiusa's Little Fish at Second Stage and David Friedman's Listen to My Heart at Studio 54. He and made his Broadway debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Woman in White, and shortly thereafter, appeared on Broadway in Boubil and Schoenberg's The Pirate Queen. He won the 2008 Joseph Jefferson Award for his portrayal of Javert in the Chicago Production of Les Miserables at the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre. He then returned to the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera, this time to play the Phantom. For three years, he toured the country, appearing as both Jean Valjean and Javert in the 25th Anniversary National Tour of Les Miserables. Regionally, he has starred in The Scarlet Pimpernel; Jekyll & Hyde; 1776; Show Boat; Ragtime; Man of La Mancha and 2 Pianos, 4 Hands.

JACKIE BURNS holds the distinction of performing the role of Elphaba in the Broadway production of Wicked more than any other actress. She also played "the Green Girl" on the show’s National Tour receiving an IRNE nomination. She also starred as Elizabeth in the National Tour of If/Then. Other Broadway: Hair (Revival, Original Cast); If/Then (Original Cast). Off-Broadway: Rock of Ages (Original Cast); Unlock'dRipper. JANINE MARIA DIVITA Broadway: Grease ( Rizzo); Anything Goes, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood.  National Tours: Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein (Elizabeth-the role created by Madeline Kahn in the film and Megan Mullally in the stage adaptation) and Finding Neverland (Mary Barrie). Regional credits include Nancy in Oliver!,  Eva Peron in Evita, Young Little Edie Beale in Grey Gardens, The Lady of the Lake in Monty Python's Spamalot, Terri in Sophisticated Ladies starring Maurice Hines, Dot/Marie in Sunday in the Park with George, Nunsense (Sister Mary Amnesia) and  Rosie Alvarez in Bye Bye Birdie. Janine’s concert work with symphony orchestras spans the globe.  Television: The Americans (FX) Elementary (CBS) The Colbert Show, the live concert "This is the Moment" (PBS) with Irish Tenor, Paul Byrom, in which Janine sings the iconic duet "Somewhere" from West Side Story. Film: "Hear My Song" (Sally) opposite Josh Lucas and Dustin Hoffman.

JENNY LEE STERN was last seen on Broadway in Rocky (Original Broadway Cast) and A Christmas Story. She toured the country as Mary Delgado in Jersey Boys, originating the role in the Chicago and Toronto companies. Off-Broadway, Ms. Stern garnered critical acclaim for her portrayals of Judy Garland, Patti Lupone, Bernadette Peters, Sutton Foster (and more!) in Forbidden Broadway: Alive & Kicking and as The Diva in Spamilton. Favorite roles include Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd; Judy Garland in Judy Garland: World's Greatest Entertainer; Kira in Xanadu; Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors; Lola in Damn Yankees; Liz in High Society. Ms. Stern has been seen frequently on the cabaret circuit in NYC, performing at Town Hall, Feinstein's, Birdland, Lincoln Center, and 54 Below, including her solo show "Just A Girl". Regionally, she has found her niche playing Patsy Cline in Always…Patsy Cline. She also tours nationally with her original show   "Patsy Cline: She’s Got You". She has been seen on TV in “The Sopranos” and “The Mysteries of Laura” as well as annually in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. 

JOEY TARANTO is an actor and a singer/songwriter from New Orleans who grew up singing in church and never stopped! He most recently appeared on Broadway as an original cast member of the Tony Award-winning production of Kinky Boots. Other Broadway credits starring as Drew in Rock of Ages and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Off-Broadway: Bat Out of Hell (New York City Center). Regional: RENT  (Roger); Little Shop of Horrors (Orin);  Urinetown  (Bobby Strong); The Who’s Tommy and more! EUGENE GWOZDZ (Musical Director/Accompanist) is originally from Fort Worth, Texas and now resides in NYC. Eugene is the Music Director/Arranger for the American Dance Machine 21, and the Duke Ellington Center for the Arts. Eugene was the MD/Arranger for Our Guy, Cy, a musical concert tribute to Cy Coleman, starring Tony Award Winners, Randy Graff, Cady Huffman, and Lillias White which received rave reviews from the NYC critics; MD/Arranger for the Jerome Robbins Awards honoring Chita Rivera, Harold Prince, and Stephen Sondheim.  Music Director and Pianist/Arranger for Tony Award-winning "Princess and the Frog" star Anika Noni Rose at the Lincoln Center American Songbook Series; Drama league Tribute to Patti Lupone; orchestrated and arranged music for the critically acclaimed revival of It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman. Music Director and Music Director/Pianist/ Arranger for the hit show, Thrill Me, and the critically acclaimed 20th Anniversary Revival Production of Maltby & Shire's Baby at the Paper Mill Playhouse. STEPHEN DeANGELIS (Producer/Host)  has produced over 300 different Broadway concerts at venues in New York and across the United States featuring a multitude of Broadway stars including many Tony Award and Drama Desk Award winners and nominees, stars from hit television series and films whose roots are on stage and Broadway's fastest rising young performers. He is also the Producing Artistic Director and Host of At This Performance..., the critically acclaimed concert series that has showcased the talents of over 1000 Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates since October 2003. He has cast over 3600 network television and radio commercials for Manhattan's leading advertising agencies for such clients as DirecTV, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, E*TRADE, Febreze, Cover Girl, Pantene, Advil, Robitussin, Downy and Hewlett-Packard and has contributed to many historic and award-winning spots and campaigns including many which have been recognized with Platinum, Gold and Silver Lions at Cannes. Stephen also cast the six-time Emmy Award nominated Playhouse Disney series “Johnny and the Sprites” starring Tony Award nominee John Tartaglia which was seen on the Disney Channel. His work has been seen in New York and regionally in over 300 theatrical productions for companies including Musicals Tonight!, York Theatre Company, The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport, The Drama League, Casa Mañana, North Shore Music Theatre, Virginia Stage Company, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Stage One, Studio Arena Theatre, American Stage Company, GeVa Theatre, Starlight Theatre of Kansas City, the St. Louis Municipal Opera (The MUNY) and Dallas Summer Musicals among others as well as numerous festival showcases, workshops and readings. Other credits include The World AIDS Day All-Star Concert Revivals of Pippin and The Secret Garden, the All-Star production of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens and the 25th Anniversary National Tour of Hair. He is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and has staged musicals in major theatres across the country in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Dallas and St. Louis and throughout New York and New England. Throughout his career, Stephen has cast over 100,000 actors across all entertainment platforms. Recent productions include the New York premiere of Unexpected Joy by two-time Tony Award nominee Bill Russell (Original Cast recording on JAY records, the Off-Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim’s Marry Me a Little and the All-Star concert version of Into the Woods. He also was nominated for two 2018 BroadwayWorld Awards. Stephen was recently named Producing Artistic Director of the new Pocono Center for the Arts which is scheduled to open in late 2020.
